This game is a lot like playing chess. There are no complex rules, so it moves very quickly and everyone can pick up on it right away. Additionally, characters have cute faces like teenage heroes. Monsters also resemble * that kids would play with. The scenery itself resembles how a peaceful town might look. As such, for such a tough game where you start over from scratch when things don’t go your way, there certainly are a lot of strange but refreshing design elements to see here!
Great audio! The sound of walking through the grassy fields and the sound of weapons being fired are unusual, but most pleasing to the ear. When killed, you feel as if monsters gently fade into the nothingness, instead of leaving a gruesome trail behind them as they disappear. If it wasn’t for the images or its genre it would be easy to think that you were playing a simulation game set in an Animal Crossing style world where characters explore farming landscapes.
The sound effects of footsteps hitting the floor and the weapons firing are rather unique but very enjoyable. There’s nothing more morbid than having to walk away from the spot where a fallen enemy used to be, but their body is nowhere to be seen… it just sort of fades into nothingness… you may expect this in a game like a simulation of farm exploration.
